Biblical Hunger

"The sum of Thy word is truth, and every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting." - Psalm 119:160
"Thy word is very pure, therefore Thy servant loves it." - Psalm 119:140

The Bible is remarkable! Yes, there is a remarkable story that winds its way through the pages of the Bible that every living person should hear. From the Fall of man until the return of Christ, the Bible is a love letter to humanity, wooing us to Him. It is 66 books by 40 men and women, which covers every aspect of life and death.

It takes a lifetime to understand all that God as to offer us within the Bible's pages, but a number of years ago I found, on the website of a man named Tony Cooke, a poem called, The Bible in 50 Words. It reads like this:

God made, Adam bit,
Noah arked, Abraham split.
Jacob fooled, Joseph ruled,
Bush talked, Moses balked;
Pharaoh plagued, people walked.
Sea divided, tablets guided,
Promised landed.
Saul freaked, David peaked,
Prophets warned, Jesus born.
God walked, Love talked,
Anger crucified, hope died.
Love rose, Spirit flamed,
Word spread, God remained.

I think that’s about the most concise summary of the Bible story I have ever heard.

Whether you are a person new to the Bible and are still trying to figure out why so many people could be interested in a book that is nearly 2000 years old, or you are a seasoned saint of God who needs a good, faith building review, I encourage you to commit yourself to being connected to God through His Word daily.

It will make a huge impact on your life and your life eternal!

Lord, Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Amen.
