I Am Saved

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life....There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” - John 3:16,18
.

"...for, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart and so is justified and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. For the scripture says, 'No one who believes in him will be put to shame.' For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:9-13

The fact that you deal with your own sins every day can often cloud the fact that God dealt with them 2000 years ago--all of them--the sins you committed two years ago, the sins you will commit two years from now, the sins you are trying really hard not to commit right now! No matter how your sins stack up on the timeline of your life, every one of them was in the future tense when Christ was gasping for air on the cross, bleeding for you, and for me!

When you gave in to His love and welcomed His forgiveness into your life, Jesus "...canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross." (Colossians 2:14) And, "since we have been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!" (Romans 5:9)

You have been justified....the books are balanced....the slate is wiped clean....the debt has been paid!

So when you approach the throne of God on Judgment Day, He will not see the blemishes and the brokenness. All that God will see is that you are "holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation." (Colossians 1:22) You cannot get any cleaner than that!

“Here I Am to Worship”
- Hughes, Zschech

CHORUS.
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me...

“Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved.” (x4)

BRIDGE
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross.

CHORUS

Prayer:
God, in the chaos of our world, it is easy to forget that you love me enough to want me to live with you forever. I confess that sometimes it is easy to see being saved as “fire insurance”. Instead, help me to live each day in love and gratitude to you, and in compassion towards others, so that they too will be drawn to your love and grace, and be saved. Amen.
