Justified by Grace

"Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all." - Isaiah 53:4-6
-----
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." - Romans 4:25

"Justification" is a legal term with two eternal benefits:
1)You are declared not guilty because Jesus paid the penalty for your sin on the cross; you are acquitted.
2)God declared you righteous. Because of Jesus you no longer fall short of God's perfect standard.

"Justified" means "just-if-i'd" never sinned. It is acknowledging that you are a sinner, repenting of that sinfulness and turning away from that sin and to the Lord. When you can do this, it is as if you never sinned in the first place, for Jesus washed it away by His own blood. Because of Christ, you can now call God, Abba Father.

Jesus bridged the separation between God and you. Therefore, you can have complete confidence to stand before God when you die and be welcomed into heaven. Christ's death completely covers the penalty of your sin and His righteousness is credited to you.

Spend some time today thinking about what Jesus did for you on the cross. Revel in His grace and love!

Prayer:
We thank You Lord for giving Your Son, Christ Jesus, to justify and redeem us. Through His grace and love, we are made right with You. Hallelujah & Amen!
