On My Knees

“...at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” - Philippians 2:10-11

One of my favorite praise songs is by David Mullen, Nicole Coleman-Mullen, and Michael Ochs. The song "On My Knees", has these powerful words:

"On My Knees"

1. There are days when I feel
The best of me is ready to begin
Then there are days when I feel
I'm letting go and soaring on the wind

'Cause I've learned in laughter or in pain
How to survive

I get on my knees. I get on my knees
There I am before the love that changes me.
See I don't know how, but there's power
When I'm on my knees

2. I can be in a crowd
Or by myself almost anywhere
When I feel there's a need
To talk with God He is Emmanuel

When I close my eyes
No darkness there
There's only light

3. I don't know how but there's power
In the blue skies, in the midnight
When I'm on my knees

When I am broken, in need of God's direction, or like Simon Peter, overwhelmed by my sin, I fall to my knees.

Have you been on your knees lately? Fall before Him and He will show you His grace, mercy and love.

Lord, I know that I need to be on my knees more. Remind me that I stand more secure, when I kneel before You. Amen.
