St. Patrick's Gold

"For we live by believing and not by seeing." - 2 Corinthians 5:7

I don't really go all out for St. Patrick's Day. Although I do respect the role that St. Patrick played in history, I'm not Irish, nor Catholic, nor do I believe in luck. About all I do is make sure I wear green and eat Irish food on this day. I can say that thinking about this holiday and how people talk about the "luck" of the Irish does remind me how blessed I am.

My rainbow as it were is my relationship with the Lord and it does lead over to my pot of gold. That relationship with the Lord entitles me to so much. It's all there waiting for me, all because I have accepted Christ as my Lord.

The wonderful treasure that I find in my pot of gold is eternal life and a home in heaven. But this relationship with the Lord takes belief. Belief in a Christ you cannot see, but who is all around and within you. This is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This is what all of humanity is searching for.

People have been searching for centuries and throughout history for the key to long life and to be ageless. And in Christ, both can be found, as so much more!

Look at all the wonderful things waiting for us in heaven.
There's Joy There.
There's Rest There.
God's There.
There's Beauty There.
There's an Inheritance There.
There Will Be a New Body There.

I love the thought that I have a rainbow that leads to a pot of gold and it's not imaginary or made-up. My relationship with the Lord leads over to a wonderful treasure. Eternal life with Christ in a beautiful place--what a thought.

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and un-defiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see." -1 Peter 1:3-5

So, what's at the end of your rainbow?

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. Amen.
