As we begin our 9 week journey to JOY in the Lord, we begin with the understanding that Jesus is the foundation of our Joy. Looking at the promise laid out by the Founding Fathers in our Declaration of Independence, we shall see how JOY in the Lord can be found through Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Reckless JOY in the Lord

Last week we looked at Jesus as the Foundation of our Joy. This week we are going to talk about how Reckless Jesus is in sharing seeds of JOY with us. This message is based on the Parable of the Sower. What type of soil do you offer to Jesus? In you, is he sowing seeds in packed soil, rocky soil, weedy soil, or good soil?

JOY in Christ Alone

This week we will be pondering what it means to have Christ as the all-in-all in our lives. What does a saved life look like? What does it mean to be a "child of God" or a "son/daughter of God"? JOY in Blessing Others

In the Bible we see Abraham & Sarah blessed by God with many descendants. Jacob is blessed during a wrestling match with the Lord, and his name is changed to Israel. We see Jesus blessing individuals with hope, healing and food for their stomachs. We see all of the blessings God has given to us throughout the ages, laid out for us in Psalm 145. But how can we be a blessing to Others? This week we will make our own list of how we can offer joy and blessings to those around us, each and every day.

The JOY in Salvation for All

When was the last time that you spent some time in silence, listening for God's still small voice. Spend some time this week, stepping out of the boat like Peter, and on faith, walking on water. Take some time, like Elijah, pushing the noise of this world aside, that you might hear God speaking to you. Spend some time, calling upon the name of the Lord....for if you do, you shall surely be saved!

Harmony is Pure JOY!

If you want pure JOY in your life, your life must be in harmony with God and with others around you. Spend time discerning your relationship with God. Are your thoughts in harmony with His? Are you ways unified with His? And then understand that if you want a joyful family, community, church and world, you must make sure you are doing your part. What must you do to have the type of harmony in your life, that King David speaks of in Psalm 133?

JOY in Trusting in the Lord

Throughout the Bible we are challenged again and again to trust in the Lord. We are warned against trusting in princes, in riches, or in ourselves; for all such trust is in vain. Trusting in the Lord is represented as being safe, blessed, and as producing desirable results. In it is our hope, our strength, our safety, and our JOY. Do you trust in the Lord?

How hungry are you for the Lord? How important is it that like Paul, you care for the “other”? How much do you desire to never repay evil for evil, no gossiping, no slandering, no holding grudges, no evil thoughts? Imagine being in such a place in your life, that because of this passion and love for the Lord and doing the Lord’s work, that it becomes YOUR heart’s desire to share the gospel and the love of the Lord to everyone you meet.
